A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement Hi my name is Jeffery I live in an informal settlement and I will tell you how it is in an informal settlement. So I woke up the one morning so tired because I have to wake up super early. I wake up early because I have to walk to school every morning. We don’t have cars we can’t afford it so I wake up an hour early it is not fun. I am so tired I can’t focus and the worst part is that there are almost 60 of us in one class. We don’t have a lot of teachers at our school because for every 60 children we get one teacher. But some don’t even have pencil cases to work with. Once I got back from a long walk I had to start my homework. I have to do my homework quickly because it gets dark fast and we don’t have electricity. We don’t have electricity because we save for the fireproof houses. At super we don’t have that much to eat so we can’t fill up fully. At night when I go to the bathroom there is a stall right outside but

Last week the singing inspector came and his name was Raymond. He wears huge knickerbockers and thick stockings like a hunting man. He has a round red face and eyes like blue gooseberry and golden curcls on his head. He called every won in except for the little boys and girls lucky wish I was a kid. he called out bunny and I first we had to stand in front and he said we had to sing for him but we didn’t know one single song. He got angry and said in a roaring voice what can you sing. I said in a weak kind of voice we can sing pretty Polly. So sing it he said so then we began it was terrible I sang in a very low sort of voice and Benny who is very long sang in a high sort of voice. I could see every body was trying not to laugh how couldn't they .

Two weeks ago we were on camp. we went to Simonsberg. I liked camp because of all the fun activities we did and all the stuff like going swimming, building forts, and the mummy game. camp was so much fun even though I missed sum of it. but I got there just when they started the activities. we did all types of things like zip lining and stalk the lantern. but my favourite was a trust game that me and Joshua

 I really like grade 4. It is challenging and it poshes me to really think out of the box and try hard. Grade 4 is not like grade 3 we now need to bring our iPads now. We bring them every were. Even to our class thing. Being in grade 4 we have to do things outside of the classroom like technology, art, drama, English, which are so much fun to do couse it is nice to get out of the classroom every once and a while. This year I am with my first mail teacher. His name is mr Bellwood he is a very cind techer and very funny to and I love being in his class.
